Soulseek Configuration file should be XML?

The current configuration file for Soulseek is not editable, so we all rely on Soulseek to maintain that file. If it was saved in XML then the file could also be manipulated and maintained using a text editor. My belief is that the configuration file should be in a format that can be opened in variety of tools / apps.
