Hi there,
Just wondering if there are any plans to make a version of SoulSeekQT whereby you can turn off private messages? Also, any plans to make a function where you can block people from a certain country and not see their chat or have them downloading from you?
Thanks very much.
Stuggy.

I'm totally against that.
I'm totally against that.
Those users that never answer on messages are the worst for me. There were some that complained loudly that some of my files were incomplete, and I answered those that I wanted to encourage them to redownload (because I saw in Uploads it didn't complete, which is occurring pretty frequently in latest clients).
However, I got no answer on my warnings, whilst the complaint was 10 times as harsh afterwards, i. e. days later when they tried to play some of the files.
Nonetheless, I think I'm not at fault: I CAN warn them, and I'm trying hard to do that in time, but if they are so stupid or even too LAZY to bother looking in their doggone Chat messages, well, then they can go sit on a tack, and I won't care.
For me it's simple: if you want to live your (sort of) autism and feel like acting on Soulseek like a recluse who hates communication of any kind, just go elsewhere, e. g. DC++ would be ideal for you in that case. See, communication has always been an inherent part since Soulseek was conceived, and it was surely not created to have another P2P network at people's disposition to benefit individuals wanting to live their reclusive nature to the fullest.
Sorry if I'm sounding rude to you, but I had to get that off my chest.
well, you can block countries
well, you can block countries with a firewall or an ip tool, for example: PeerBlock.
but, for what reason do you want to block a whole country ?
Racist? :s

Thanks for the input guys.
Thanks for the input guys. Great post, sysmaster01.
I want to turn off PM's because I get bombarded by PM's from another user who constantly changers their username - up to 4 or 5 times a day. I've emailed Nir and I _think_ he's blocked their IP but this person is now using a proxy, although the proxy is American so I wouldn't block that.
