Hi there

It has just happened to for the first time ever ...... my SLSK client is unresponsive and just shows the Spinning Beachball of Death.

I have no clue why? Could anyone help?

I am enclosing the sample of the unresponsive app:

changed the user name before it hanged and the prob seems to be gone .... will update on the subject

Well, it looks like Snow Leopard doesn't support C++11, which both the latest version of Qt and the client itself need. I'm afraid that raises the minimum OSX version requirement from 10.6 to 10.7... Sorry for the inconvenience.

Ouch !!!!! As Snow Lepoard is the last good OS made by Apple. Any idea why the clients hangs up? It did not happened for a really long time till it did last week.

Yeah, I don't like it either. Some believe Apple is trying to force developers to upgrade by not keeping the tools on Snow Leopard current. The bug you've posted a report for looks a lot like another bug that was reported and fixed on Windows a few weeks ago.

I think so, too. Apple have just focused on a completely different approach from what they had been known till few years back.

Was the bug you mentioned fixed by Msoft or you? If it helps, I can say that a few restarts of the client brought back functionality ..... but when reversed to my previous nick Beachball of Death reappeared. Changing, quickly after restart, the user name did the trick again.

Another thing that may be important is that I chat a lot and have at least ten chat tabs open at a time and I almost never switch off my computer.

It was definitely a client bug, something to do with figuring out user groups when someone is trying to download from you. Changing usernames probably just disables the problem upload from starting...
