Requesting file list hangs - what else should I try?
Hi, I sometimes get "Requesting file list" when trying to browse a user's files, and it hangs and never brings up the list of their files.
I have had this happen with a user with a huge amount of files, and with a user who had less than 40 files. In my specific case, I don't believe that it is the number of files that they use, but something with my connection to them.
Most of my connections work fine, and I can upload/download fine from others (never tried with the requesting file list people).
My machine (Windows 7, Soulseek QT) goes through a router and then out to the Internet. I set static IP on the machine, port forwarding on the router (it's not one on the portforwarding.com list) for two TCP ports (58948-58949 which are listed on my login page). I go to soulseek port test and canyouseeme and both of them can see those two TCP ports as being open. I did not change server port because I don't know what that's for.
Any ideas for what else I can test? Thanks for any suggestions.

Try observing what happens if
Try observing what happens if it hangs again and you disconnect/reconnect within Slsk. If it does work with the very SAME user afterwards, then the case will be clear: you've just hit the 24-hour disconnect from ISP side and notoriously, Slsk needs a little time until it "realizes" that you got a new dynamic IP.
So make sure you also check your router's logs which hopefully recorded the timestamps of disconnects and reconnects to the network.
