digital artifacts

I would say about half the music is so glitched out with digital artifacts that its unlistenable. is this just me? is it being propagated by corporations to discourage downloading?

No, it's because people still think 128kbps mp3 is acceptable in 2013 as a form of digital audio, so they rip their entire collection to that abysmal quality level. Even on an ipod, it's horrible sounding.

You gotta know the right folks :)
