New linux build uses hard-to-see fonts, very annoying

On my debian wheezy 64-bit system, the new SoulseekQt client (2013.10.5) has presented a whole new typeface for all of the text in the program. It is a fine-lined, completely un-anti-aliased serif font which is alien to anything else on my system, and the thinness of it is quite difficult to read on my screen (if it were anti-aliased, this might be better). I suspect this may be related to the new Qt implementation used.

I suppose I'd like an option to set the typeface, or inherit it from the desktop environment, or at least just restore it to how it was handled in the 5.18 build. As it is, it's quite hard on my eyes.

All that aside, I still love slsk (and have for more than a decade!), and give endless love, respect and gratitude to nir and all the others working on it. Thank you!

I have registered here to say just that. The static build looks aful. It's as ugly as Skype or Google Earth is.

I understand that this is how programs with statically linked Qt work, but there needs to be an option of changing font to something legible.

Or maybe there is an option, when building Qt, to include anti aliasing? Even ugly fonts would be legible with anti aliasing on.

Yes it is hard to see anything with those curly small fonts.
