Soulseek crashing and then not restoring downloads in progress

Windows 7 user...I've been finding that Soulseek occasionally freezes and requires me to manually close and re-open the program, which wouldn't be a big deal except that when Soulseek starts up again, the downloads that I had in progress are missing, though they show up in my 'incomplete' folder. Why does this happen, and how can I prevent it? It's frustrating to constantly requeue my downloads. Sometimes they'll even end up in the 'complete' folder though they're still incomplete.
