Recurring problem

I've got this problem that occurs something like once a year-year and a half.
I open Soulseek, and all of a sudden it asks me to login. I immediately recognize that it happened again and that all of my data is lost.
All my user list is gone, the downloaded folders I kept in list for my own order, my sharing folders aren't there and it's not so fun to pick those folder one by one again (again, because of my own order of things), and my long and precise wish list.
Last time it happened I'm pretty sure someone told me it'll change with the new version that I got at the time. If it's indeed true I'd like to know at least how to retrieve my user list, which is the most important part for me.

btw, I'm talking about a problem that happened to me since the 7-8 years I've been using Soulseek and through that time changed computers and of course, versions of soulseek.
I'm not too disappointed, because I've found my own ways to get most of the users back, and also cause I love Soulseek and I realize these things happen, but if there's any solution out there or could be one for future occurrence, I'd be really grateful.

Thanks
Ofri

I'm not sure what would have caused your problem but you could backup your config file periodically, it might take the sting out it if it happens again.

On Windows 7 you'll find the file(s) hiding under:

C:\Users\*username*\AppData\Local\SoulseekQt

Might be slightly different location for Vista or 8, also you might need to turn on "Show hidden folders" in view settings to be able to see \AppData\

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
On closer inspection, slsk seems to keep 3 backups of the config file at that location. These are time stamped, when you end a session a new one is saved and the oldest is automatically deleted. If your problem happens again, you could try immediately exiting slsk, removing the newest two, and restarting slsk. This will revert to an older save and probably fix your problem.
In retrospect, seeing how the file is created when the program exits suggests an improper shutdown of slsk might cause corruption of the file. I'd image the other two are there to revert to in this case, but for some reason this might not always work. Just speculation.
I hope this helps if it happens again.
Thank you! I've found a little backup I did a year ago and I'll try your solution next time or just start backing up more often (:
