[Win 8.1] Disk usage 100%

Forums:
Opening SoulSeek causes my HD's disk usage to ramp up to 100%. The computer virtually locks up. After managing to close the program, it takes a few minutes before disk usage finally drops down from 100%. I'm using the 12-19 build.
Restarting my computer hasn't helped. Reinstalling the program didn't help either.
Any idea what's going on?

but are you sure that disk
but are you sure that disk usage is caused by Soulseek ?
check system monitor.
The odd thing is, the system
The odd thing is, the system monitor shows 99% disk usage without anything in particular apparently taking up that much. It lasts for 5-10 minutes after opening Soulseek (and persists even after it is closed), and then it goes away.
Having the same problem here.
Having the same problem here. It's impossible to open soulseek, it keeps freezing, disc goes to 100%, and if i let it stay open too much my system freezes too and i have to restart. Already confirmed that yeah, it's soulseek's doing and nothing else. This didn't happened before, and i delayed updates for as long as i could, maybe something in a new version is acting up?
Soulseek rescans your shared
Soulseek rescans your shared folders in the background when it starts up. Is it possible something has been added to the folders recently that is causing a problem? Any symlinks, hard links, directory junctions that might be causing a loop? You might try renaming the shared folders one at a time to get them out of the way and narrow down the possibilities.
