file exclusions/inclusions

Can someone offer a way forward please.

I'm trying to d/l a series of .iso files using QT that I know the user has available (but I cannot see them inside the folders in his share) but as soon as I get to the top of the queue the file starts and aborts immediately.

I went back to the older NS version from which I can both see the file and get it to download.

I'd rather use the QT version but cannot see an exclusion list blocking .iso files. Is there something I can set somewhere or something else I can do?
