Soulseek crashing on startup (windows)

Soulseekqt decided one day to start showing a message that says 'the application has caused Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way. Please contact the applications support team for more information'

It didn't seem to do it after anything particular. I have tried uninstalling, running CC cleaner to clean the registry files then reinstalling, and the same thing still happens. I've tried doing the same and installing the latest nightly build, and i have also tried updating the visual runtime windows drivers. I'm all out of ideas now, has anyone got any idea what could cause or fix this? I'm running Windows 7.
