socket error - advise.

I've tried to do my research on the forums on here before posting, but the last day I've run into the dreaded "Login failed. Reported failure reason: socket error. Please change your login settings in the Options tab and try reconnecting."

Never had this problem after all the years using soulseekQT, the last month I've been on nonstop with zero issues.

here's what I'm working with:
-OSX 10.9.5
-router is a ATT 2WIRE 3600HGV
-ports are configured and when tested are open

I've tried changing usernames and passwords, doesn't seem to work.

If its an ISP blocking thing how can I check?

Any ideas what I'm doing wrong or not doing?

I'm a basic noob, so "speak slowly" ;).
