Search doesn't work if "-" character is included

Description: 
When I paste a search query of the form "Artist - Album (2012)" it never returns any results. I revert to pasting, taking out special characters and then submitting. This is not greatly inconvenient to me because I work around it, but it violates new users' expectations and should be fixed. Or at least add some kind of warning. Thank you for the otherwise excellent software!

The - is used in search to NOT show specified word in the results, in other cases you dont need it. this can also be used in browsed files.
example: artist album -whatever (will show artist and album but wont show whatever in the results)

Cool! But it should't work with a space after it. It should work like most search engines. Here from Google:

Note: When you search using symbols, don't add any spaces between the symbol and your search terms. For example, a search for -dogs will work, but - dogs will not.
