New SOULSEEK GUI

I had downloaded SS a few weeks ago and had not used it since at least over 5 years ago (I think) and the new GUI looked great!

Then all of a sudden, my folders were not being shared...people could not see them, but I was able to get files and chat with

people. Also, my username was ATEBARK (no caps). I uninstalled it and reinstalled the latest build and now I am back to the old

GUI and had to create a new username because ATEBARK was not recognized by SS. Any idea what is going on?

Yeah, I got a report of this happening from someone else. Did you at any point change the shared folder's permissions via the 'Set Folder Permissions' context menu option? I suspect it might not be working properly. Under Options->File Sharing, what does it say in the 'Accessible' column?

Oh, also, while this problem is still around we may have a golden opportunity. Go to the Diagnostics tab and use the 'Dump Data' button at the top to dump your client data to file. I'm sending you an invite to a dropbox folder where you can put it. That will let me see exactly what's going on on your end.

Just saw your invite. thank you. Is the the fact that ATEBARK was not recognized AND the latest GUI not installing properly, part of what you are talking about or are you addressing only the folders not being shared?

I do not believe i changed the permissions. I also added 3 different shared folders. I will try what you suggested...I assume this will work with the old GUI?

Well, I'm hoping to catch the bug in SoulseekQt (new GUI) that makes your folders appear not shared. If you can verify that your files still appear unshared in SoulseekQt and then dump your client data to file as instructed it might help me fix it. If this is too complicated though don't worry about it.

I see no Diagnostics tab in 157 NS 13e.... :-(

There is a "view Diagnostics Info" under VIEW. I uploaded the file called "Diagnostics Info" to DROPBOX

Not in 157 NS 13e, in the new client (SoulseekQt). If you're not sure what I mean don't worry about it.

right, i think i DLed that client the very first time but cannot seem to reinstall it successfully. Each time I installed it I would see the old GUI
