Sharing a folder should
Sharing a folder should automatically share all of the subfolders it contains.

Is there a way to exclude a subfolder? I tried adding the subfolder that I wish to exclude, then I created a new user group and added only my username to it. Other users were still able to access that subfolder though.

Not currently. A user has access to all of the folders shared with their groups. You'd have to move the folder somewhere else if you don't want it to be shared.

While I doubt it would see a lot of use from most users, I think the ability to hide subfolders from certain groups or what have you would be a useful feature.
Subfolders
I am having the same issue...I share a folder and none of the subfolders get shared...windows 7...thanks
I can't reproduce this here
I can't reproduce this here on either Windows 7 or 8. Can you give us some more info pawnmower? What types of files are in the subfolders? Is there any weird permissions going on? etc.
well
turns out I was wrong....Soulseek QT does index the files properly, my bad....its just so darn FAST compared to the old one.....I really like this new version. For some reason, it says 0 files added and 0 files indexed but it does actually add the folders. This has all been just band name/album/songname.mp3
Sorry about that...I tried browsing my own files to see what was happening, but got an error.
I am loving the QT so far.....rreally great job on it , you all.
Sorry for the mistake, I truly thought I was having the same issue as the OP but it turns out everything worked even better (faster!) than I can imagine....I dont have a huge collection but it indexes everything lightning fast...

If you browse yourself and
If you browse yourself and are getting an error, most likely you're what I call "double forwarding" - it happened to me before. Basically you'd check off UPnP in Soulseek AND use ports that you've already opened in your router manually; that would cause me not to be able to view my files.
However, if you just choose a random port in Soulseek, and check off UPnP, without any manual router configuration, you'll find that you can browse your own files no problem.
HTH
You should always be able to
You should always be able to browse yourself with the latest build, the client just uses the localhost address for your own username.

One thing I realized
Ok so a couple points of confusion , that caused me to think it wasn't working originally:
1) when I do 'rescan files' it says 0 files added, maybe because it already added them when i reloaded SLSK? If
2) WHen I rescan the files, and look in the 'room' it still shows the old number of files, until i leave the room, then re-join the room again......I (dumbly) assumed it would just update without doing this.
Anyhow, I would make sweet love to soulseek if it was even an ugly woman or at least an emo guy.
Cheers.
Thanks @thescarletfire
I will try that
& thanks Nir
Very helpful bunch here...! You guys are awesome.
Oh Now I can even browse myself.....
I think my port forwarding may have been messed up..something I did mustve fixed my router LOL..so now I can even browse myself....its working flawlessly
