Is it possible to search in Japanese text?

using mac version, is it possible to search in Japanese text?

I am able to see read Japanese texts when I browse other user's files. However, it does not produce any search results at all, when I use Japanese text as search input. Not even the simplest, single character in Japanese will return any results.

Is there a work-around method to run a search with Japanese characters?

same problem. I would love to be able to search in kanji on the mac version.
