Deleted Album keeps getting adding back to download queue!
This is a really weird problem which has driving me nuts and I can't make it go away.
So what I did was queue an album from some user (say User A) in Soulseek but then found the same album available from another user (say User B)with better speeds. I removed the initial download from User A from the queue and added the same album from the other user - User B. Now here is where the weirdness starts: Soulseek keeps adding back that initial album from the User A and the album back to the download queue song by song. I delete the added song but it appears back after a few seconds with the next in queue until it finally exhausts the list and I have to keep deleting each one of them! I thought alright fine, now I am done but here is where it goes from irritating to frustrating -> everytime I quit Soulseek and start the app again, this nonsense of trying to queue all the songs of User A and that album start all over again!
Please provide some solution to this like deleting some cache somewhere or probably editing some ini/config files as I have not been able to find anything around it. Only thing that helped a bit was I had to eventually change my user logins but then same thing happened with a different user with my new login. I can't keep creating new users!
Thanks in advance & hope some one is kind enough to provide a fix.

That used to happen to me with Soulseek NS
This reminds me of an issue I used to see in the NS client. If you have someone on your uploads allowed list (so they can send you files you didn't request), then you couldn't cancel any of your queued downloads on their side; you'd delete them on your side, but then they'd just show up again in your queue. I would assume it partly depends on what client they are using, maybe also the ability of their client to receive communication from yours. I haven't seen it since I switched to SoulseekQt, but maybe that's because I'm only allowing uploads from certain users who all happen to also be using Qt. No idea though...just guessing.
i have been away from
i have been away from soulseek for quite a long time - used it a lot a decade back but then switched to torrents. Now recently came back to it and loving it since it has the rarest stuff on it to which torrents cant hold a candle to.
Anyways, the funny thing is I had this issue on my old client too which i used years back - happened a couple of times though not too frequently. It is really weird that this issue is still present in the software and no one has ever reported it.
Still looking for a fix......
Workaround...
ok i think i found a workaround for this and just thought i d share it here so that anyone else facing the same problem can fix it.
so its pretty simple. you just need to remove the user from your user list from whom you were downloading the album and then removed it for some reason. If I remove the user from my list, the deleted files do not get added back to my queue. You can add that user back in the near future and the problem won't come back.
Hope this helps!
PS: Would like if this problem is fixed though in a future version as its rather annoying.
You should also be able to
You should also be able to uncheck Options->File Sharing->Accept uploads from from all user list users. It's simpler, but not as practical if you're worried about receiving uploads from other users.
Exactly. I do not want it to
Exactly. I do not want it to hamper upload to other users in any way so using this method for now.
For the record, the setting
For the record, the setting only affects you ability to receive files you didn't ask for from other users, not your own uploads to others.
Yep, got it, thanks.
