speed slowdown

is there a reason why in certain hours the dl speed is normal and then suddenly it slowdown dramaticaly?
i checked with my internet supplier and after a check i've been told it might be from your server... could it be ?
i had this problem with the old client as well

Our server is not involved in transfers between you and other users, so no, it can't slow them down. Either your ISP is lying to you or the users you're downloading from have their speeds tampered with by their ISP.

I'm working on something that might prevent most ISPs from recognizing Soulseek traffic if they're doing any traffic-shaping on it. I'll post on the news page when I have something concrete.
