Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library Runtime Error

After repairing my Windows XP installation, I'm now getting Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library Runtime Errors on 5 or 6 different software programs. Soulseek is one of those. I've searched and installed all the Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Librarys I can find but I'm still getting errors. I'm wondering if someone else has had this issue and found a fix. Any help at all would be much appreciated.

Not impossible its the XP that's the problem?

that error sometimes happens when one of the .dat files that save the settings is corrupted/damaged.
