About 6-7 hours ago, following an abrupt p/c shut off, I opened soulseek again, but it could not recognize me, asked for correct password and as I changed it and was permitted in, all my pending users/downloads/uploads were gone... Could someone explain why this happened and if it could be cured somehow????? thanks

it seems that your config files where corrupted and therefore replaced. I'd strongly recommend an fsck/chkdsk before U continue and repair the corrupt filetable at first. Try it after that again (even when I think your SLSK has then already reconfigured for the newly created configfiles.
Most informations in the configfiles are ASCII readable so U could copy/paste them into search and find the files and users again.
