cant open application downloaded it now what?

I'M NEW TO THIS , MY BOYFRIEND HAS IT DOWNLOADED ALREADY BUT ON HIS USER PROFILE. I AM TRYING TO DOWNLOAD IT UNDER MINE BUT ITS NOT WORKING FOR SOME REASON, IVE DOWNLOADED IT SEVERAL TIMES ALREADY BUT WHEN I TRY TO RUN THE APP IT NEVER OPENS . WHAT AM I DOING WRONG! I HAVE WINDOWS 8 CAN SOMEONE PLEASE HELP ?

have U used the "switch User" Windows login or the exclusive login? SLSK only starts once; if another user is running it he "got the ball".
U could track it with the help of the taskmanager.
U need admin rights to go thru the Firewall/connect to ports and ports could only be tapped by one app (so there's no way to tunnel torrent and SLSk on the same port forwardings.
